CIRCUMSTANCES OF DISAPPEARANCE

On July 31st, 2020, just before midnight, Jamie Tate left her mother's home in Indianapolis, Indiana with a bag of clothes. Jamie told her mother she would be back. In the early morning hours of August 1st, it is alleged that Jamie was heard arguing with Robert Owen Sorrells Jr. and he was seen dragging her into a house at 508 S. Warman Ave in Indy. Jamie knew Sorrells personally and it was reported that he had been harrassing and stalking her.

After that 5am sighting on August 1st, 2020, Jamie Tate was never seen or heard from again. She was reported missing to IMPD on or about August 7th, 2020.

It was later discovered that on July 31st, between 3-4 in the afternoon, someone in a blue car tried to run Jamie over at 3800 W Washington in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is believed that Jamie Tate had gained knowledge about the murder of Blake Burnau, and because she spoke out, her own life was threatened and possibly taken.

Jamie's family has been adamant about seeking justice. They have been open about Jamie's past addiction issues, her struggles with mental health issues, including PTSD.

It is not uncommon for officials to overlook cases like Jamie’s. If there is a hint of substance abuse adding to a risky lifestyle, it seems to make these cases less of a priority to officials.

Although Jamie had her personal struggles, she deserves no less from authorities than any other missing person or victim of violent crime.

Jamie Jo Tate was the youngest of four siblings on her maternal side, and youngest of six siblings on her paternal side. Jamie’s mother says she was always a “daddy’s girl” with a great sense of humor and loved by all who knew her. Jamie loved the outdoors and loved fishing.

This young lady is clearly more than a face on a poster with a case number. She was a daughter, a sister, a friend whose presence is missed. She was more than a case file sitting in the back of a desk that only gets reviewed when another piece of paper gets added to it.

Her family deserves answers, Jamie Jo deserves to be brought home.

CIRCUMSTANCES OF DISAPPEARANCE

At the time of her disappearance, Shannon was dating David Mays, an enforcer for the notorious outlaw motorcycle club Located on Indy’s east side. Shannon was an exotic dancer at Babe's West on Lafayette Road.

According to sources, Shannon, and David Mays became engaged some time in early November, and according to authorities, the couple made an appointment to apply for a marriage license in early December.

According to friends, Shannon had canceled the wedding plans in mid November of 1997 and was attempting to end the relationship with David Mays.

On December 1st, 1997, Shannon made a collect call to her mother and told her she would be home to Wisconsin for the holidays and was bringing David Mays to meet the family - Shannon never showed up and her family never heard from her. At this point, Shannon’s family had assumed that Shannon may have made other plans or didn’t have the funds to travel.

In the days leading up to Shannon’s disappearance, her car was in the repair shop and David Mays was her transportation home from work in the evenings. On the afternoon of December 3rd, 1997, David Mays and Shannon Turner were both seen at her residence by her landlord and a service worker. It would be the early hours leading into December 4th, 1997, after leaving work, that Shannon would last be seen.

Per her normal routine, on December 3rd, 1997, Shannon chained her dog outside in her backyard before she left for work. On December 6th, 1997, three days later, the neighbors became concerned because Shannon’s dog was still outside and they called the Humane Society. The dog was taken to a shelter.

It wasn’t until the end of December when Shannon failed to arrive for the Christmas at relatives homes in Wisconsin, when the family began to grow increasingly concermed. Shannon was a bit of a free-spirit and would often travel - and although her family was concerned, they assumed perhaps Shannon was out traveling and would eventually contact them.

In January, 1998, Shannon’s landlord contacted the Turner family stating Shannon had not been inside the residence since early December. The landlord told the Turner family they had cleaned out Shannon’s apartment, and the family could come retrieve her belongings. The landlord stated there were no signs of forced entry or foul play.

In the same month, January, 1998, Shannon’s mother called the phone number that Shannon had made the collect call from back on December 1st. A man by the name of John Walker answered the phone. Walker stated that he did not know Shannon but that on that date, David Mays was house sitting for him while he was away and Shannon was likely with him.

After 6 weeks of not hearing from Shannon, Shannon’s sister filed a missing person’s report.

In 2003, during a Federal Court Hearing where numerous Outlaw members were tried for RICO violations, several witnesses provided testimony that Shannon’s then boyfriend, David Mays, was responsible for Shannon’s death. John Walker was briefly named in this 2003 court testimony in relation to the disappearance of Shannon Turner. Danny Garland, aka “Tubby Glide,” was also named as an accomplice to Shannon’s disappearance during this same court testimony.

David Mays was charged in connection with her murder and although there were several testimonies that connected him, Mays was acquitted in federal court, as no body or concrete evidence was produced to prove his involvement. Danny Garland, aka, “Tubby Glide,” was not named by officials as an accomplice, and was not charged for any involvement in Shannon’s murder or disappearance.

Shannon’s family continues to fight for answers as to what happened to Shannon and where Shannon’s body was hidden.

King Walker African American Male Missing From Gary Indiana Since July 2015

KING RAJAN WALKER

  • Missing Age : 2 years old

  • Current Age: 6 years old (at time of this entry) King is now 7 years old, as of May 2020

  • Height 3 ft

  • Weight: 34 lbs

  • Black hair in dreadlocks

  • Dark brown eyes

  • Male

  • African American

  • Limited vocabulary at time of disappearance

CLOTHING/ACCESSORIES

  • Blue T-shirt

  • Red shorts

  • White sneakers

CIRCUMSTANCES OF DISAPPEARANCE

At the time of his disappearance, King Walker was spending the weekend with his grandfather, Eugene Bynum; Eugene’s wife, Susanne and his Aunt, Diamond Bynum at 529 Matthews Street in Gary, Indiana. King would visit on the weekends and had been dropped off at his grandfather’s home the night prior to his disappearance.

According to police reports, a call was received by Gary Police Department on the morning of July 25th, 2015, just before 11:13 am. The caller was Susanne who was calling to report Diamond and King missing. According to the reports, Susanne, Diamond, and two-year old King Walker, laid down around 10:00 am that morning. When Susanne woke up at 11:10 am, both Diamond and two-year old King were nowhere to be found. The front door was stated to have been unlocked.

The last time Diamond and King were said to be seen was about 10:20 am on the morning of July 25, 2015.

King’s Aunt Diamond had a history of wandering away home in search of food and many times had been found in grocery stores. While many theories exist, one theory is that because of Diamond’s history of wandering in search of food, that she walked away from the residence to go to a local store and took King along with her. Being that the family was new to the Gary area, Diamond may not have been familiar with the neighborhoods, and the two of them potentially got lost.

While this theory seems plausible due to Diamond’s history and diagnosis, according to the span of time in the police reports, Diamond and King would not be able to get too far together on foot. If they were last seen at 10:20 am and reported missing at 11:13 am, that would mean they were gone for under one hour. Diamond has some physical limitations that would make it difficult to carry or control two-year old King Walker for any length of time. On her own, she could potentially go a few miles, but with a two-year-old child she would likely not make it too far. The other theory presented is that perhaps they were accosted by someone while out walking.

King’s grandfather does not believe this to be an occurance of Diamond wandering off in search of food. The family had just been grocery shopping and a chocolate cake was left untouched on the counter. If Diamond would have been food-seeking, she would have to go no further than her own kitchen.

Diamond and King’s disappearance was certainly alarming. A lot of scrutiny was placed on local Law Enforcement as many believe the intial response from Law Enforcement was not aggressive enough. Unfortunately, King did not fit the criteria for an Amber Alert and his disappearance was not broadcasted quick enough to prompt a nationwide watch.

Searches were conducted on foot through several abandoned homes and buildings by family and community members. Task forces brought in K9 to see if they could find a scent that would lead them to Diamond and King, and while K9 was able to pick up scent within a few blocks of the home, the scents were picked up in random areas that did not lead to a straight path to Diamond and King. One scent was trailed near a local park but then stopped. Another trail led to a local gas station and the family had to fight to get surveillance video which ultimately resulted in no images of Diamond or King.

According to police reports, a few suspects were questioned - each suspect named as being involved and each with similar descriptive events, but no arrests were made.

The Northwest Indiana Major Crimes Task Force investigated their disappearance in October of 2016. At that time, they submitted several items to the Police crime lab, conducted interviews, searched areas again with K9 and executed at least one search warrant. Still, there have been no answers as to where Diamond and King may be or what may have occurred. Currently, the case is under the authority of Gary Police Department and has not been turned over to the FBI for additional, ongoing investigation.

CIRCUMSTANCES OF DISAPPEARANCE

At the time of her disappearance, Diamond Bynum lived with her father, Eugene Bynum and her stepmother, Susanne (aka Michelle) Bynum at 529 Matthews Street in Gary, Indiana. Diamond resided with her father and step-mother for several years. In February 2015, the family relocated from nearby Hammond, to the home on Matthews Street in Gary, Indiana.

Diamond Bynum’s older sister is the mother to two -year old King Walker. King Walker would frequently spend the weekends with his grandfather Eugene, aunt Diamond, and Eugene’s wife, Susanne.

Diamond Bynum has a diagnosis of Prader-Willi syndrome. This disease causes the individual to be overcome with extreme hunger. People with this diagnosis will often go to extreme lengths to find food - sometimes disregarding any danger.

In an attempt to cure the extreme hunger, Diamond had a history of wandering away home in search of food and many times had been found in grocery stores. While living in Hammond, and also while at her mother’s home, Diamond would wander away but always returned home safely. While many theories exist, one theory is that due to Diamond’s history of wandering in search of food, that she walked away from the residence to go to a local store and took King along with her. Being that the family was new to the Gary area, Diamond may not have been familiar with the neighborhoods, and potentially got lost.

While this theory seems plausible due to Diamond’s history and diagnosis, according to the span of time in the police reports, Diamond and King would not be able to get too far together on foot. If they were last seen at 10:20 am and reported missing at 11:13 am, that would mean they were gone for under one hour. Diamond has some physical limitations that would make it difficult to carry or control a two-year old child for any length of time. On her own, she could potentially go a few miles, but with a two-year-old child she would likely not make it too far. The other theory presented is that perhaps they were accosted by someone while out walking.

Many online reports describe Diamond has having the mentality of a seven-year old child. While Diamond may have some cognitive and maturity delays -her father , who agrees with those delays, describes her a little differently. Diamond was good at running a household. She was learning to cook, she could make a shopping list and also do laundry and clean a home. She would never let someone in the home that she did not know. In fact, her father states that even if someone came to the door that she knew, she would never answer unless given permission.

Diamond’s father does not believe this to be an occurance of Diamond wandering off in search of food. The family had just been grocery shopping and a chocolate cake was left untouched on the counter. If Diamond would have been food-seeking, she would have to go no further than her own kitchen.

Diamond and King’s disappearance was certainly alarming. Even though Diamond was capable of handling many household tasks, and had a basic understanding of authority figures and strangers, there was still a developmentally delayed person and a two-year-old child unaccounted for. A lot of scrutiny was placed on local Law Enforcement as many believe the intial response from Law Enforcement was not aggressive enough. In fact, it took a month and a half to even issue a Silver Alert for Diamond, and because there was no vehicle description, King did not fit the criteria for an Amber Alert .

CIRCUMSTANCES

  • At the time of his disappearance, Kevin was in the approval process for housing.

  • Kevin had a small homeless campsite along the railroad tracks near the White River where he routinely stayed and kept his belongings. Although he was homeless, it is very uncharacteristic of him to disappear and not have regular contact with his family. Kevin’s family would visit his campsite every few weeks and bring him supplies.

  • July 10th, 2018, two days before his 57th birthday, Kevin made his routine trip to town and visited with family members and asked to borrow some money. Kevin’s family helped him out and also informed him someone would stop by his campsite per usual within the next few days. This would be the last time Kevin’s family saw him.

  • On Kevin’s birthday, July 12th, 2018, a family member stopped by his campsite along the White River to bring him supplies, but he was not there. Two to three days later, his family returned to his campsite and he was still not there and the supplies they previously brought were left untouched.

  • Kevin’s family continued to return to the campsite, and other than what may have been disturbed by wildlife, everything remained intact and the supplies remained untouched.

  • Within the timeframe of his disappearance, Kevin had spent a few days at the home of an acquaintance who lived approximately two miles from Kevin’s camp along the river. That individual agreed that Kevin had been at his home but denies any knowledge of his whereabouts.
