Kyle Jay Ellis White Male Missing From Greybull, Wyoming Since January 2018
KYLE JAY ELLIS
UPDATE BELOW
Kyle Jay Ellis, born August 10, 1988, was last seen on January 8, 2018. For more than eight years, his family, friends, and community lived with the uncertainty of his disappearance. Searches were conducted, leads followed, and hope remained, but answers did not come.
On October 16, 2026, remains found in a remote area near Cody, Wyoming, were positively identified as Kyle’s. The discovery ended years of not knowing and brought a measure of closure to those who had carried his absence every day.
Kyle was known as an adventurous spirit, always seeking meaning through exploration and experiences beyond the ordinary. Those who knew him recall his curiosity, his drive to push boundaries, and the quiet impact he left on those around him. While his passing is a profound loss, the identification of his remains allows family and friends to begin the work of mourning fully.
Grief in these circumstances is measured not only by sorrow, but by the strain of not knowing. The waiting, the unanswered questions, the absence—all leave a mark that is hard to quantify. Finding a person’s remains does not undo that mark, but it allows mourning to begin fully.
For friends, neighbors, and loved ones, there is now the chance to remember, to reflect, and to acknowledge the life that was lost. The search is over. The questions are answered. The work of grief begins.
While the pain of loss does not disappear, there is room now for healing, for shared memories, and for support among those who cared for Kyle. Grief can be carried together, and in remembering him, his spirit and the mark he left on the lives of others continue to endure.
Rest in heavenly peace, Kyle.
