Brian Michael Donahue II March 18, 1998 Indianapolis, Indiana

UNSOLVED HOMICIDE

HOMICIDE VICTIM

BRIAN MICHAEL DONAHUE II

VICTIM HISTORY

At the time of his death, Brian Donahue was only 25 years old. The oldest of two kids in a close knit family, Brian’s death shattered the hearts of those who loved him. Brian was a talented athlete; skilled in baseball and wrestling, even winning the 1994 Bad Boys Championship. He not only had a large stature but he had an even larger heart and was a friend to all he crossed paths with.

CASE DETAILS

On the afternoon of March 19th, 1998, Brian’s father and mother grew concerned after not hearing from him. It was unusual for this close knit family to not have frequent contact. Brian’s father went to Brian’s house to make sure everything was okay. Upon arrival, Brian’s father walked into the worst nightmare of his life, he found his son deceased, the victim of a gunshot wound to the head.

Law Enforcement believes that Brian was killed the day prior, on March 18th, 1998. The perpetrator in this case was known to Brian and after Brian let the individual into his home and turned his back, they took Brian’s life.

This incident was likely a set up. A handful of individuals known to both the shooter and Brian, know exactly what happened and why. For 24 years, the persons involved including those who heard the grim details, have chosen to keep those details to themselves. Not only has the Donahue family had their loved one ripped away from them, the lack of information has prevented them from the closure they need to heal. They have lived 24 years not knowing who the coward is, and why such a coward could take the life of a young man who had an entire bright future ahead of him. The perpetrator is still walking the streets. The accomplices still know the truth. Those close to the perpetrator and the accomplices have heard the details. No one has come forward.

On October 20, 2012, just two days before Brian’s 40th birthday, his mother suddenly passed away. She never got the closure in this life to see her son’s killer brought to justice. She never got to know why. There are countless messages scribed by his mother to Brian on his online gravesite memorial. The words of heart-wrenching grief from a mother and father grieving the loss of their son is honest and raw. A sister’s grief from losing her hero. All of them are a testimony to the amazing young man that Brian was in this life. Brian’s father and sister are still desperately seeking answers.

At the time of this entry, today’s date marks Brian’s 50th Birthday. No doubt he and his mother are celebrating in the heavens. Happy Birthday, Brian. Praying for justice and for comfort and guidance for those left here seeking answers.
